Kotahi Barbell Club (KBC) offers a space and community to support you in learning the movements and competing in the sport of weightlifting.

Our Purpose Is

To provide opportunities for athletes of all ages and levels to participate in Olympic Style Weightlifting

To bring more athletes into the sport

To provide opportunities for more coaches to enter the sport

To meet athletes where they are within their own personal journeys and support individually determined success and progression

To support those with competitive aspirations to compete at the highest possible level

GABI PEACH

Head Coach of KBC

Gabi has an extensive coaching background in resistance training and sports, and has been involved in Weightlifting for 8 years. As well as competing at a senior national level, Gabi has experience coaching from novice youth to international level athletes, and since 2023 has been selected as a New Zealand representative coach.

HOW THE CLUB WORKS

KBC members are able to attend the following team training sessions each week to work with other team members and coaches;

Monday 5:45-7.30pm

Wednesday 5:45-7.30pm

Thursday 6:30-8pm

Friday 5:45-7.30pm

Sunday 9-11am

Additional training opportunities are available for experienced athletes during Open Gym times
"I've never done weightlifting before, how do I get started?"

Get in touch and we will pair you with a coach to work alongside each session during team training times as you learn the basics. You are a full team member even as you learn! New athletes are invited to join at any time of the year

Want to join KBC but not able to make it to trainings?

If you live outside of Hamilton or are unable to make it into CFK often to train, we have an affiliation membership option that might be right for you
